Special Issue: “ADVANCES IN NEUROSCIENCES APPLIED TO PEDIATRICS”

This special issue of Investigación e Innovación Clínica y Quirúrgica Pediátrica, entitled “Advances in Neurosciences Applied to Pediatrics,” brings together original articles, case reports, letters to the editor, and reviews addressing various aspects of pediatric neurology, neurosurgery, and psychology.

The original articles and case reports address topics such as drug-resistant epilepsy, neonatal neurological involvement, traumatic brain injury, clinical neurophysiology, central nervous system tumors, neuromuscular diseases, and congenital malformations of the nervous system. Additionally, a letter to the editor addresses the utility of surgery in drug-resistant epilepsy.

Furthermore, this issue includes reviews on the use of 3D printing in neurosurgical procedures and on the use of social robots as tools aimed at improving emotional, social, and behavioral outcomes in hospitalized pediatric patients.

Overall, this issue seeks to contribute to the dissemination of relevant scientific knowledge for the diagnosis, treatment, and comprehensive management of neurological diseases and neurosurgical pathologies, as well as the emotional challenges associated with complex medical conditions in the pediatric population.

As a novel feature, this issue includes videos in two articles presenting findings from cases of central nervous system tumors and neuromuscular diseases, which complement the clinical and imaging descriptions of these cases.
